Unfortunately, many people mistakenly believe that hitting the gym a few times a week will give them the results they desire. Building mass doesn't occur overnight, you must undertake a strategic muscle-building plan, assure the body gets the nutrients it needs by adopting a healthy diet, and incorporate essential periods of rest. Regardless of your body type, with a little effort and a calculated plan, anyone can build mass and strength.

We can now go to our local supermarkets and purchase products year-round that were once seasonal specialities, only available a few times of year. With so many options, why do some people choose to eat seasonal, locally grown produce, reducing the variety of available food choices. The short answer is because it's healthier and it tastes better as well.

While there are many acid and alkaline food charts online, comparatively these charts can provide conflicting information. The lack of consensus is the result of many charts basing their classifications on an inaccurate source.

Many of these pains are caused by lactic acid buildup in the muscles. What exactly is this acid and how can you deal with it? Lactic acid, also known as milk acid, is a chemical comprised of the elements hydrogen, oxygen and carbon. When you exercise, the body breaks down sugar into a variety of chemicals. If your body has sufficient oxygen, the body produces the chemicals carbon dioxide and water, and you experience no pain.

Sounds like a silly question, but the latest research from Harvard University casts doubt on the need for running shoes. In fact, researchers found that wearing running shoes can actually lead to more injuries than running barefoot. In a groundbreaking research study, Harvard professor Daniel E. Lieberman studied the effects of barefoot running in Africa. He and his research team found that when people wear running shoes, they tend to strike with the heel. In contrast, barefoot runners have a springier step and tend to hit the ground with the middle or front of the foot.
